When you left for Pakistan in February 2014, we were broken-hearted, angry even, that you had left us. But we drew comfort from the fact you were with your parents, brothers and sisters. We thought you would find solace with them.

When we came to see you in January 2016, our hearts were swollen with pain and anguish at your suffering. We saw you, you heard our voices. I am convinced you knew we were coming even before we arrived, at least that is what the doctors said. You knew us, we were all there. We held you, we kissed you, we told you how much we love you. I hope that in this you found comfort and peace.

The journey was difficult for us, taxing emotionally and physically. But I would make that journey a million times again if I could bring you back.
